Colossians 3:17

Pastor's Passion For Ministry

Pastor Schramm, through the enabling power of the Holy Spirit, wants to share and show the comfort and peace of God, which is ours in Christ Jesus, to all people. But especially to those whose journey in life is now being restricted by various physical issues.

Pastor's Background

Verdell Schramm was born in Alexandria, MN on July 20, 1937 and was baptized and confirmed at St. John's Lutheran Church in Garfield, MN. He attended Concordia Academy and College in St. Paul, MN and completed his college education at Valparaiso University in Indiana. Verdell served as a Director of Christian Education and Youth Work at Ft. Leavenworth, KS and also at St. John's Lutheran Church, Depew, NY. Verdell also taught at Concordia Academy in St. Paul, MN and was for 10 years with the Kinship Program of the Plymouth Christian Youth Center in Minneapolis. He became a Director of Christian Outreach in 1984 and served at St. John's Luverne, MN and Trinity Lutheran Church here in Lincoln.
Following endorsement of the pastoral ministry through the Colloquy Program at Concordia Theological Seminary, St. Louis, MO, Verdell was ordained and installed as Pastor of St. Peter Lutheran Church, North Bend, NE in April 1996.
Verdell retired in July of 2002 and served 20 months as interim pastor at Immanuel Lutheran Church.
Verdell married Elaine (nee Buuck) on August 28, 1960. They have four children, three sons James, Steve and David and their families in MN, and a daughter Susan and her husband living in Lincoln.
