| We Are Saved Through Faith | |
|---|---|
|
We are saved for eternity by believing in and trusting gin Jesus Christ, not by the good things we do or by keeping God's Law perfectly (something we are unable to do). This faith is given to us by the Holy Spirit and is made stronger in our lives as we regularly become connected to His means of grace (God's Word and the Sacraments of Baptism and the Lord's Supper), as we walk in the footsteps of our Lord in Christian living, and as we approach our Lord in prayer, asking that He would strengthen our faith. Romans 10:9-11 "If you confess with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved. As the Scripture says, 'Anyone who trusts in Him will never be put to shame.'" |
