Following Pastor Koenig's semi-retirement two years later, Reverend Marvin Gruett was installed on August 2, 1970. Also, a committee was named to study the church's and school's future needs. Principal Hartman was released to Ocala, Florida, and Clifford Schultz succeeded him. After Principal Schultz was released, Daniel Heibel assumed the reigns of Principal.

It was also in the early 1970s that the Calvary congregation resolved to expand and establish a church branch. A multi-purpose branch facility was planned for in 1972 close to 84th and South street.
