Pastor Schroeder was released to Cedar Rapids, Iowa in 1985, and Pastor Brauner was released to Spokane, Washington. Stanley Fehlhafer was installed as Principal following Principal Heibel's release to Norfolk, Nebraska. Rounding out the many changes in 1985 was Reverend Maurice Goldhammer's installation on September 8, 1985.

Next, there was much focus on the "two-facility" question. Neil Sandfort and Dale Scheer, with the Nebraska District Office, were retained to assist in the planning process with respect to the two facilities. A task force was appointed to serve as fact-finding group to study available options, and many brainstorming and informational meetings were held in June 1987. On September 22, the Voter's Assembely passed a resolution to study the feasibility of moving toward a separate congregation per facility. Soon thereafter, in October, a Phase II task force was appointed to study the question.
